Introduction: Estimating future human resources, especially for organizations such as universities responsible for training specialized personnel, is of vital importance. The aim of this study was to estimate the number of available workforces, identify job opportunities, and determine the demand for graduates of Health Services Management in Isfahan Province in the year 2023.
Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted in three stages. First, the available workforce was determined using a census method. Then, job opportunities were identified through document analysis, a researcher-made questionnaire, and interviews with ten experts. Finally, the demand for graduates was estimated using job opportunity data, an innovative formula, and the opinions of a five-member expert panel.
Results: The number of available workforces was estimated at 132 individuals. Job opportunities were classified into two categories: administrative-financial (39 jobs, 30%) and health-care (15 jobs, 11%). Job positions were categorized into five main groups including hospitals, universities, health networks, pre-hospital emergency centers, and deputy offices. In total, 1962 job positions were identified, and after applying an optimal occupancy coefficient, 642 job opportunities (33% of total positions) suitable for graduates of this field in Isfahan Province were determined.
Conclusion: There is a significant discrepancy between the potential and actual job positions for graduates, necessitating a fundamental revision in the recruitment and employment processes of these individuals. Such revision can prevent financial resource wastage and enhance organizational and individual productivity.
