Abstract
Equitable improvement in the health status of different regions is essential for the balanced and sustainable development of the country. This requires resolving inequalities mainly regarding resource allocation. The study of indicators shows that Hormozgan province has received less public health operating budget compared to neighbouring provinces, despite its greater needs. It is suggested that when the budget bill is being formulated and approved, distributional equity in the public health budget be seriously considered for Hormozgan, along with allocating special capital budgets, to accelerate the utilization of healthcare infrastructure in this important border province. Also, the transparent release of equity measures for the regional distribution of budget, besides its tables and figures, will prepare the scene for both legislators and governors to be more accountable.
