Introduction: Children are the cornerstone of the growth and development of societies. Therefore, attention to the physical and mental health of children is one of the most important concerns in health and treatment. This research was conducted to examine the development status of Iran's provinces in terms of children's health indicators.
Method: To measure the development of children's health, 14 indicators of children's health including Respiratory infections and tuberculosis, Enteric infections, total burden hepatitis B, total burden hepatitis C, Nutritional deficiencies, Hemoglobinopathies and hemolytic anemias, Congenital birth defects, Cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes mellitus, Mental disorders, Caries of deciduous teeth, Sexual violence, Child growth failure, all of which are based on life years adjusted with disability, and life expectancy have been used. In 2019, the indicators of all the provinces were collected from the statistical collection of the global burden of diseases, and using TOPSIS and Shannon's entropy analysis, the provinces were ranked based on these indicators to determine the development status of children's health in Iran.
Result: children have the best health status in Gilan, Chaharmahal Bakhtiari and Mazandaran provinces, and the worst health status in Sistan and Baluchistan provinces. Also, in about 16% of the provinces of the country, the health status of children is very poor and below average, and in 54% of the provinces, the development status of the provinces is suitable in terms of children's health indicators.
conclusion: By identifying the health conditions and needs of communities and provinces, more accurate planning and decision-making can be done regarding the provision of health services and facilities. It is also possible to improve health indicators and development status with necessary training and allocation of appropriate incentives, political and economic stability, and improvement of social components of health.
