Abstract
Introduction: Productivity in concordance with culture and socialization can ensure stableness and survival of organizations and would be a mechanism for taking the competitive advantages. This study aimed to assess the relationship between organizational socialization and staff productivity among two groups of employees in selected hospitals in Isfahan.
Methods: This was a descriptive-analytical/correlation study. The study participants (n=250) were selected through systematic random sampling from three hospitals including an educational public hospital, two private hospitals, and a charity hospital. Data were collected using Biligard's socialization questionnaire and Gold Smith's employee productivity questionnaire. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed using experts opinion and the Alpha Cronbach (85%).
Results: There was a significant direct relationship between the organizational socialization and staff productivity (p<0.01). Age, gender, work position, and duration and type of employment had no significant relationship with socialization and productivity in all hospitals except for the private hospital.
Conclusion: Considering the effect of staff productivity on goal achievements in hospitals, influencing factors on productivity should carefully be considered. The organizational socialization is among those factors that our study showed its effect on productivity.
